Are you missing one or more teeth? If so, it’s time to reflect upon your tooth-replacement options. One helpful option is to substitute your missing teeth with a dental bridge. A dental bridge in Fremont, California is an artificial tooth or teeth fused to a dental crown on each end. The crowns anchor permanently onto the neighboring teeth and complete your smile.
A dental bridge can help your smile several ways. It can:
-Preserve or restore the fullness of your face
-Repair your smile and your missing teeth
-Add strength and force to your bite
-Offer you the aptitude to chew and talk properly
-Keep the nearby natural teeth from wandering out of position
Fortunately, the procedure for installing a dental bridge is easy. However, the installation may require two visits to our office, depending on the equipment we have available. During your first appointment, Dr. Ron Hernandez will make room for the crowns by trimming the outer enamel layers of the two neighboring teeth. This will create enough room to place the dental bridge over the teeth. Dr. Ron Hernandez will then create impressions of the abutments (the shaved teeth) and the corresponding teeth in your bite and send those impressions to a professional dental lab. While you wait for your bridge to be made, your dentist may help you have a functional mouth by placing temporary crowns over the abutments.
During your second appointment, Dr. Ron Hernandez will remove your temporary crowns and will assess the fit and function of your new bridge. If the bridge fits well in your mouth and does a proper job of performing daily tasks, your dentist will cement it into place.
